Basic Sailing Course

The Bergen Chapter of SEAS  Basic Sailing Courses are taught by Red Cross certified instructors and are intended to teach the basics of sailing to those who have never been on a sailboat as well as those with some experience.

The basic sailing course consists of 12 hours of classroom instruction in which you will learn

Classes will be held promptly at 7:00pm and end at 10:00pm

 

MONTH	CLASSROOM	WATER SESSIONS
MAY 2010	7 - 10 pm  May 5, 12, 18 & 21st at WestBeth Artists Housing Community Room                          55 Bethune St. NY, NY	9-5   May 15 & 22nd at Monksville Reservoir

16 hours of actual sailing experience on the Monksville Reservoir in Ringwood, N.J. is also included and required to complete the course of study.  Water sessions will be held from 9:00am to around 5:00pm on:

 All graduates receive the American Red Cross Basic Sailing Certificate, and will have gained the confidence, experience and knowledge to sail a boat.  

The cost is $250  which includes a textbook & use of SEAS boats.  Course fee does not include transportation to NJ but assistance may be provided by the Gotham City Sailing Association Meetup  Organizer, via carpools with a minimal fee to cover a Van rental service if needed.

You must be in good physical condition and able to swim to take the course.
